Lori & Mike R. on the Tall Ship Silva – Sneak Peak

July 10th was an amazing day. The weather called for rain, not just any rain, but thunder showers. The hourly forecast showed rain for each and every hour of the ceremony and reception. Ordinarily that wouldn’t be a huge deal, but the wedding was on the Tall Ship Silva… a boat, and we would be sailing around the harbour for a few hours. If I hadn’t checked first i would never have guessed the forecast called for rain when I met with Lori and Mike, they were so positive about the weather it was refreshing! Rain or shine you could tell that this day was going to be amazing.

Everyone got ready at the Cambridge Suites on Brunswick Street – great choice, since it was close to the Tall Ship Silva. Speaking of the Silva, this was the scene when I arrived. dark and foreboding.

Amazingly though, it rained for a short few minutes when we first boarded the boat, and then that was it. The rain held off and we were left with a beautiful overcast day. Out on the water was windy and a bit rough, but with the rain holding off it proved to be the perfect venue.

The ceremony was awesome. When it was time, Lori came up from below deck following her two bridesmaids, a flower-girl and a ring-bearer. Mike stood patiently at the end of the aisle with their son Samuel. The each said their own personalized vows, and wow, they were amazing. Lori and Mike exchanged rings at 11:00am with George’s island in the background.

Once we got off the boat I drug the wedding party all over Halifax for photos. Minutes turned to hours, and the sun broke through a bit burning everyone (I think… maybe just me?) We ended the trip off at one of Halifax’s best landmarks. The Alexander Keith’s Brewery. It was a perfect end to a perfect day!

Thank you so much for letting me be a part of the day!
