Michaela & Michael in Souris, PEI

Around Thanksgiving my wife and I drove to PEI for my cousin Michaela’s wedding. It was a short ceremony that didn’t last even 10 minutes. Having already had a wedding on the west coast in BC earlier in the summer they didn’t have a photographer.

We ran outside for no more than five minutes before the ceremony began and, with the help of my wife, captured these photos. I didn’t shoot many other photos during the ceremony, or reception – I enjoyed being a part of the celebration – but these quick photos of the couple are some of my favorite photos to date.

Angela & Doug F. – Married at the Holiday Inn Dartmouth – What a perfect day!

Angela and Doug, Thank you so much for letting me be a part of the day! It was a blast!

The day started with the couples getting ready, Angela and Doug got ready at separate houses, which was great. Once everyone was ready we headed downtown to take some photos before the ceremony that evening.

Once we finished up downtown it was off to the venue, The Holiday Inn – Dartmouth, for the ceremony. The scene was awesome – Nice and intimate for the ceremony, and then the room opened up for the party after!

The party really got going after the dances and continued late into the evening – Angela’s brother had some of the best moves ( in my opinion;) )

The hotel even has an amazing staircase heading up to the ballroom floor where we managed to get the family together for a quick photo op!

Lori & Mike R. on the Tall Ship Silva – Sneak Peak

July 10th was an amazing day. The weather called for rain, not just any rain, but thunder showers. The hourly forecast showed rain for each and every hour of the ceremony and reception. Ordinarily that wouldn’t be a huge deal, but the wedding was on the Tall Ship Silva… a boat, and we would be sailing around the harbour for a few hours. If I hadn’t checked first i would never have guessed the forecast called for rain when I met with Lori and Mike, they were so positive about the weather it was refreshing! Rain or shine you could tell that this day was going to be amazing.

Everyone got ready at the Cambridge Suites on Brunswick Street – great choice, since it was close to the Tall Ship Silva. Speaking of the Silva, this was the scene when I arrived. dark and foreboding.

Amazingly though, it rained for a short few minutes when we first boarded the boat, and then that was it. The rain held off and we were left with a beautiful overcast day. Out on the water was windy and a bit rough, but with the rain holding off it proved to be the perfect venue.

The ceremony was awesome. When it was time, Lori came up from below deck following her two bridesmaids, a flower-girl and a ring-bearer. Mike stood patiently at the end of the aisle with their son Samuel. The each said their own personalized vows, and wow, they were amazing. Lori and Mike exchanged rings at 11:00am with George’s island in the background.

Once we got off the boat I drug the wedding party all over Halifax for photos. Minutes turned to hours, and the sun broke through a bit burning everyone (I think… maybe just me?) We ended the trip off at one of Halifax’s best landmarks. The Alexander Keith’s Brewery. It was a perfect end to a perfect day!

Thank you so much for letting me be a part of the day!

Angela & Doug – Peggy’s Cove?!

Yes. Peggy’s Cove – In the fall, I know exactly what you are thinking, this could be iffy right?

Angela & Doug at Peggy's Cove

Not for them! Wow. What a perfect day these two picked.

Angela & Doug at Peggy's Cove

Today I had the honor of photographing a friend and her new fiance (Congrats Guys!) at Peggy’s Cove outside Halifax. The weather can be worrisome there – sometimes it’s warmer, but most of the time it is much MUCH colder.

Today was PERFECT, the sun was out, but behind some thick clouds, and Angela & Doug didn’t let the wind (or the cold) phase them one bit.

Once we were done in the touristy spots, we hit up the town below the lighthouse and snagged a few different shots.

Enjoy the teaser post!

Congratulations Kirsten & Dean

Congrats you two! What a great day. Spur of the moment semi-planned stuff is always great.

Kristen – what a sport for wanting to run around on the rocks in that dress!

Dean that scooter.. wow 😀

Thank you so much for having me! You guys picked some amazing venues for the ceremony, photos, and reception! Everything was (from a photographers standpoint) perfect!

Jana & Paul – Congrats!

Congratulations to the two of you!
What a great day, starting from the spa all the way through to the ceremony and reception at Hatfield farms. That was my first time there, and one I won’t soon forget.

Check back in a few days for a sneak peek at your photos, who knows maybe the bull-riding shots will be included 🙂

Again, thanks so much for including me.

Congrats Terry & Tanya

Congratulations Terry & Tanya!

What a great ceremony – Awesome location for the ceremony, no wonder you wanted a shot of the stained glass at the altar! it was amazing. We went to Victoria Park for the formals and couples shots, what a great idea, it’s a bit far of a drive – but one I would suggest to anyone if you have the time!

Photos are being downloaded and edited as I write this – enjoy your honeymoon, and check back for a teaser shot in the next few days!
